Following the site samples is a section on Web Site Creation: What you should know. It’s very informative and will fill you in on things like, domain names, hosting, and things to think about before commissioning a web designer. Also there is a section with print related work. Sample advertisements and photography are also listed. Below are some of the sites that I have created.

Look for the CPV Icon on sites for Cross Platform Verification. That means these sites work and operate the same on all operating systems such as MAC/PC/IPhone/IPad and Blackberry's. Web sites created before 2010 with flash elements or sites created after 2010 with flash elements will not. They will appear and function normally on any PC or Mac platform but flash elements will not be visible on a PDA/BlackBerry/IPad or Iphone.

YELP NOTE:
If you are a YELP fan or user, comments or reviews created by users or clients/customers will only stay on the site as long as they are active and use the site. Otherwise, their quotes, over time, will be removed. So, if you have a great review or someone posts one about your services you'd like to post and keep, be sure to copy it and keep it for yourself. Just in case!

An additional note 05/09/10: with the release of the IPad and the exclusion of FLASH (Adobe) I have re-worked many sites that have/had flash elements. You may notice that some of the pages on my own site have a non-flash version available. Those versions and sites coded without flash are viewable on all platforms, MAC/PC as well as IPads, IPhones and other PDAs with Internet Service. If you have a site entirely built from flash you will only see a white screen on any of those operating systems.

Kylo Anderson, YOGA Instructor

This is a site I created for Kylo Anderson a Yoga Instructor in San Diego, CA. Kylo exudes a confidence and skill level that is enticing and infectious.

Kylo's review for

10/16/2009

"What can I say about Steve McKinnis? He does it all: photographer, web designer and graphic artist. Steve worked with me on my website. He only asked me for an outline. I gave him key points and he took it from there. From the first website draft, he blew me away. He was constantly in contact with me regarding changes or photographs. He raises the bar with his professionalism and attention to detail. To say I'm very happy with his services is an understatement. I'd definitely recommend him as well."

Integrité Salons.com

This is the new site for Integrité Salon in San Diego, CA. There were a couple of starts before I developed this site, not by me, but it was a fun project to work on. The salon is really beautiful and it was fun to shoot and work on this project.

Daniel's review for

03/31/2010

"I was lucky enough to come across Steve McKinnis and his amazing abilities with not only web design, but his photography, understanding my biz and what style it is, without me giving every detail to him. After we came to an understanding of what I wanted and what it would take a contract was sent and things moved forward fast and my site was done and launched before I knew it. My site now is not only a site that represents me and my biz, but is a site I enjoy and show everyone I can. All I can say is if you not only need but want a site.. He’s your man and easy to work with. Thank you."

AntiquesinSanDiego.com

This is the site for the Antique District located in Ocean Beach. Four antique shop owners in Ocean Beach wanted their organizations web site to be re-done to reflect the Ocean Beach of today. The Antique District of Ocean Beach is quite impressive and has grown to out shine the only area in San Diego I thought housed antique's, "Antique Row," in Normal Heights.

George's review for

11/16/2009

"We first contacted Steve McKinnis about a year and a half ago to help us in developing a new web site for the Ocean Beach Antique District. Steve was exactly what we needed. He came to the group and made an impressive presentation; he listened to and met individually with each of four store owners. He developed an incredible site for us, did all the photography and design which resulted in this wonderful visually stunning web site. Through the entire experience Steve was so very accommodating, professional and available. The end result was a web site which successfully represents our entire district as well as meets the needs of the individual stores. Steve has continued to be extremely helpful and always available when we had questions or were looking for modifications. If you're looking for someone with technical skill and confidence, as well as creativity and artistic talent, then Steve McKinnis is the guy to call. This new web site has been such an incredible boost to our business district and has become a great tool for us to reach out to our customers, don't know why we hadn't done it sooner!”

Esties' International

This site is about to debut. It's a dual site with a full functional shopping cart via GoDaddy.com. It's also completely customized. The cart and site refelct and blend with each other.

The first site Estie had built (lower link) is a great example of “buyer beware.” Estie trusted a company that seemed to be a leader in the web industry. He was told his site was custom coded. Upon review of the files it looks as though it was a template. Over the course of five years Estie finally chose to move on. Please take a moment to read my section on Web Info. Don’t buy into a corporation just because they are housed in a tall building with validated parking. It doesn’t mean they are credible or even capable at what they profess to do.

Estie's review for

10/29/2009

"Yes I was lost & so frustrated with a web company I had been working with for YEARS trying to get my website up & running. They just did not get it. Then I was referred to Steve. I just chatted with him for about 1 hour and gave him my ideas and concepts and within weeks he was able to produce a fabulous web site for me. I was very impressed with his creativity and his understanding of what I wanted. I am very happy with what he has done for me & continue working with him to complete my site and I would refer Steve McKinnis to anyone without any reservation.”

SoulSync

This is a site I re-did for Connie Stewart. The old site didn't reflect her passion. She is a very vibrant and exciting person and her site should reflect that.

Connie's review for

11/14/2009

"I went to Steve for help with recreating an old website. Within minutes, I felt he understood what I wanted and needed - even before I could articulate it. I frequently get compliments about my website, but not just run of the mill comments. Such statements as, "I got goosebumps; your site is stunning, WHO did your site?" all make me proud and thrilled to know Steve and to be a benefactor of his beautiful and creative genius. Check out my site to see his fabulous work."

Dr. Milberg

Dr. Milberg's review for

11/15/2009

"Steve McKinnis is a fabulous and creative person. He has great web designing skills as well as good people skills. Many of my patients have complimented my website because they said that it accurately portrays our caring office atmosphere. Steve has gone out his way to help me with PowerPoint presentations as well. He is available for last minute help and is more than willing to rearrange his schedule to offer assistance. I have referred several other professionals to Steve for graphic arts and web design. Their positive experiences have paralleled mine. My website is always in the process of being updated.”

I can not write enough about Dr. Diane Milberg. She is an awesome dentist and the nicest most energetic lady I have had the pleasure to work with in years! I have horrible memories of my Orthodontist as I was growing up and going through retainers and cleanings and well, Dr. Milberg is excellent with patients, parents and adults. She knows how to put you at ease. This site was a total pleasure to work on. Although it is very professional in nature it does reflect her sense of fun and love of children. If you are contemplating a dentist for yourself or your children I can not recommend her highly enough.

"It's You!" has been the overall positive review for my website created by Steve McKinnis. Vignettes Antiques

Lori's review for

11/19/2009

"Steve was highly recommended to me by my friend Jane at 'Art Takes A Village' who was thrilled with the site he had created for her. Since I wanted a very layered, highly stylized, French look & feel for my vintage home decor shop, I needed someone who could "get it" & create it from the boxes & files of ideas I had collected over a year's time. Steve never flinched; he went thru everything I had gathered & then proceeded to miraculously create exactly what I had envisioned. This deserves such high praise as his ability to really listen, understand & then produce with his uber artistic talent, the spot-on vision that the client has, is what sets him apart. The day my site went up, it started receiving rave reviews for its' 'Wow' factor & it perfectly represents my shop: http://www.vignettesan... I then recommended him to the Ocean Beach Antique District for our group's website that needed a total re-do & he created one with major impact that has put our district on the map: http://www.antiquesins... His photography, design work, creative input & ultimately the ability to pull it all together so brilliantly, is why Steve sets the gold standard for websites. My highest praise to a phenomenal talent!"

Got Me Massage

Tim's review for

10/17/2009

"5 years ago I started working with Steve Mckinnis for my web and graphic services. At that time I had an aol page and a business card that was pretty basic. I knew if my business was going to grow, I needed a new and professional look. Not being an artist I didn't quite know how I was going to convey that vision."

Tim Marzullo had a single page on AOL.com that didn’t really reflect all the services he provides as a massage therapist. His positive energy and theology made this site a real job to work on. Not only is he a well grounded person with a great attitude he knows his field of work inside and out.

Note: This GYM is no longer open.

"I had the chance to re-do and overhaul a web site for a great lady by the name of Maddy. It was a great pleasure to work on this project and shoot all the models and work out in such a great space and very original gym. I’m sad to write that the gym has since closed. In an economic down turn it is truly sad to say “good-bye” to such a great lady and space in general.
